Nagaland: 22nd Hornbill Festival 2021 starts today

The much hyped 22nd Hornbill Festival of Nagaland will start from December 1 at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, about 10 km away from State Capital Kohima.

The opening ceremony will take place from 4:00 pm onwards with Assam and Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi as the Chief Guest while Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Advisor for Tourism and Art & Culture H Khehovi Yeputhomi will be the chief host and festival host respectively.

The function will also witness greetings from three guests of honour—Naor Gilon, Ambassador Israel to India, Melinda Pavek, United States Consult General, and Manfred Auber, Consult General of Germany.

K Lakiumong, head GB Sangphur and Mannyem Wangnao of Longwa village will pronounce festival blessings and traditional blessings respectively.

The programme will be followed by musical presentation by Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) under the brand of “Flight of the Hornbill.”
