218 new patients recover from virus
DIMAPUR, MAY 20 (MExN): 326 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland out of 2,951 test results on May 20. Eleven new deaths due to the virus were also reported on the day taking the death toll to 234.
The Health Department informed that the new cases include 161 from Dimapur, 100 from Kohima, 16 from Tuensang, 14 from Zunheboto, 12 each from Mokokchung and Mon, 7 from Phek, 2 from Wokha, and 1 each from Longleng and Peren.
The new cases comprise of 186 detected through self test and random testing, 105 traced contacts, 23 from the armed forces/security personnel, 9 frontline workers and 3 returnees/travelers.
Meanwhile, a total of 218 patients have recovered from the infection. They include 118 from Dimapur, 78 from Kohima, 15 from Mokokchung, 3 from Longleng, and 2 each from Peren and Zunheboto.
The total caseload of the State is now 19,284. A total of 13,924 patients have recovered from the infection and there are now 4,519 active COVID-19 cases in the State. With 11 new deaths, the number of fatalities in Nagaland due to COVID-19 is now 234.
Of the total cases in the State, 4,127 are asymptomatic, 198 have mild symptoms, 75 have moderate symptoms requiring oxygen, and 67 have severe symptoms requiring oxygen. Meanwhile, 52 patients are in the ICU, of which 14 are on ventilators.
