Nagaland BJP leaders attend prayer meet for Vajpayee

Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): Nagaland BJP leaders attended the Sarvdaleeya Prarthna Sabha (all party prayer meeting) held to pay tribute to former three-time Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at IG Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on August 20.  

The team comprised of State BJP President Temjen Imna Along, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Organising Secretary Ananta Mishra.  

A press release from Media Cell, Nagaland BJP further informed that the National BJP President Amit Shah has directed the party units to hold prayer meeting in all the States in the capital before August 31, in which leaders of all political parties and distinguished people from different fields should be invited. Subsequent to the prayer meeting at State capital, similar meetings are to be organised in every district, mandal and panchayat, it added. 

The release also informed that the Central BJP office has prepared a list of rivers throughout the country wherein the holy ashes of the deceased will be submerged. The urn carrying the ashes has to be taken from the airport to the State party office as per protocol, it said.  

Vajpayee passed away on August 16 at AIIMS, New Delhi after prolonged illness.
