Kiphire, October 27 (MExN): Addressing a public meeting at Pungro local ground on October 26, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party leader, Y Patton asserted that the BJP candidate Lirimong Sangtam is a young, capable and qualified upcoming leader amongst the Naga youngsters.
“Many capable intending candidates had vied for the PDA consensus party ticket which is the BJP party ticket here in 60 A/C but the party had chosen Lirimong to be the PDA candidate considering his zeal in social services and also as an acknowledgement of his loyalty towards the party and to the people. Therefore, it is our fervent appeal to the electorates of Pungro-Kiphire Constituency to judiciously cast your valuable votes in favour of Lirimong Sangtam,” he added.
According to a press release from the DY CM's media team, Patton further reminded the gathering that never in the history had a running Government lost a bye election particularly in Nagaland context but with the election mood on there will be maximum rumours to confuse the people.
He alerted the people not to be carried away by such election propaganda but rather stand firm for the benefit of opportunities and development for the area of the 60 A/C and support the BJP candidate, it said.
“This is bye-election, it's a matter of hardly two years term now and the present PDA Government which is a coalition of BJP, NDPP and Independent has enough members to run the affairs of the Government and to complete the remaining term comfortably and therefore the present Nagaland Government is manned by a dedicated and committed leaders and that people of this constituency should not take a wrong decision but to ensure winning of the Consensus BJP candidate to further strengthen the present PDA Government,” the release quoted Patton as saying.
Highlighting on the ongoing developments, Patton said, “Kiphire being an aspiration district is fortunate to have been selected as an extension of the only Nagaland Tools and Training Centre, Dimapur through the initiative of Advisor for Industries and commerce & ITI, Imnatiba which is already approved and waiting for implementation now. Further, through the initiative of the Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi under Jal Jevaan Mission has already started the project for reaching out to every functional household to avail safe Drinking water in Pungro Area which will be covered by the year 2020-2021."
Patton further urged upon every electorates of 60 Pungro-Kiphire Constituency to wisely cast their decisive votes and avail the given opportunities and for development by supporting the PDA consensus BJP candidate Lirimong Sangtam.
