Kohima, December 26 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Oscar-and Grammy-winning composer Dr AR Rahman on Friday jointly announced the establishment of the ‘Naga International Studio by Dr AR Rahman.’
Taking to X to update about the development, CM Rio noted that the studio will serve as a “hub for nurturing talent, storytelling, producing world-class music, & creative content inspired by Naga culture.”
He also expressed gratitude to Rahman for “recognising the potential of the Naga people & investing in us.”
As per the AIR News Kohima, the announcement was made at Touphema Village in Kohima, where Rahman also expressed his appreciation to the Government of Nagaland and the Chief Minister for its priority and focus on the music industry and the creative economy.
Conceptualised by Rahman, the studio will be located in Kohima and will feature state-of-the-art recording studios, a performance auditorium, and related support infrastructure, it added.
