NYC launches ‘Stop Vote Chori’ Campaign

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) on August 16 welcomed 224 new members from various backgrounds into the party. Among the new entrants, 85 joined from 9-Kohima Town A/C, 65 from 15-Southern Angami-II A/C, 37 from 10-Northern Angami-I A/C, 14 from 8-Western Angami A/C, 3 from 14-Southern Angami-I A/C, and 2 from 11-Northern Angami-II A/C.
In a mass joining programme for DCC Kohima organised by NPCC at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, NPCC president and MP Lok Sabha S Supongmeren Jamir accepted them to the family of Congress party. He said that their entry into Congress has strengthened the party. He looks forward active participation of the youth in the party activities and assured that Congress would strive to fulfill their dreams and aspirations for change and a progressive society.
NPCC Working President (Administrative Zone (A) Khriedi Theünuo also welcomed the new members to the party. Highlighting the history of Congress party, which was formed in 1881, Theünuo emphasised the importance of grassroots mobilisation in strengthening the party.
Kevi Vizo, Secretary NPCC also spoke at the programme and stressed on the need to work together for betterment of the party.
The programme was chaired by Khuvishe (Atomu), Working President of DCC Kohima while Seyievilie Sachü, NPCC secretary prayed for the programme. Ketseiyie Mere, President DCC Kohima, delivered the welcome address.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Youth Congress (NYC) launched the nationwide ‘Stop Vote Chori’ campaign at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. The campaign aims to create awareness against electoral malpractices and safeguard democratic values.
NYC leaders said the initiative would include awareness drives, outreach programmes, and mobilisations across the state, urging citizens to unite for free and fair elections.
