Nagaland continued to remain COVID-19 free as on 5:00 pm, March 29, according to official figures maintained by the Department of Health & Family Welfare. The total of suspected samples returning negative results stood at 18 on Sunday evening as the result of the 1 sample which was sent on March 28 also tested negative. Four more samples were sent on March 29, the results of which were awaited.

 

Meanwhile, Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha released another update informing that as of 3:00 pm, March 29, “a total of 3982 people, including students, who have returned from outside the state from March 6 onwards, have self reported to the respective District Surveillance Teams and are under home quarantine.”

 

Out of these, 392 people have completed the mandatory quarantine period and 3590 were under home quarantine.

 

A total of 1523 persons have self registered through the ‘SELF DECLARATION COVID-19 Nagaland App,’ which was launched by the Chief Minister on March 28. Sinha requested the remaining 312 persons who have not completed their full details to submit and also all those who have entered the state after March 6 to self register through the app.

 

While stating that a total of 24,619 phone calls have been received through the state’s health helpline numbers, he said that a State Level Control Room for the COVID-19 lockdown has also been set up. Anyone in Nagaland facing hardship as a result of the lockdown as well as people from the state stranded outside can contact— 0370-2291122 and 0370-2291120.  

 

Further, he informed that the Department of H&FW has distributed a total of 740 PPE— 200 for Kohima, 100 for Dimapur, 90 each to Mokochung and Mon, 50 to Wokha, 40 each to Tuensang, Phek and Zunheboto and 30 each to Kiphire, Peren and Longleng.

 

“The rest of the stocks have been kept at the State headquarters. Also, the department has kept ready 133 Ambulances pooled from the churches, para-military, NGOs, individuals, private hospitals and the government.”

 

Stating that availability of the essential commodities across the state continues to be normal, he informed that that the state has PDS foodgrains that would last for 3 and a half months.

 

He appealed the public to strictly continue adhering to the lockdown directives and stay at home, unless it is for buying food and other essential commodities. At the shops and outlets maintain, "Social Distancing", he reiterated.
