Nagaland  COVID-19 recovery rate at 62.2%

The COVID-19 recovery rate in Nagaland continued an upward trend with the State registering 128 recoveries on Sunday.

The daily briefing by Principal Secretary, Home informed that the total recovery as on Sunday was 2,294. Active cases were 1,376 while 8 deaths have been registered so far.

With this, the recovery rate in the State increased to 62.2%.

Meanwhile, 51 COVID-19 cases were reported on August 23, taking the State’s tally to 3686.

According to the daily COVID-19 status update from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, 28 cases out of 51 were from the Armed Forces while Traced Contacts were 14 and Frontline Workers and Returnees were 6 and 3 respectively.

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,355 active cases are asymptomatic, 20 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate, it added.

Further, out of the 3,686 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people was- 1,607 cases of Armed Forces, 1,207 cases of Returnees, 246 cases of Frontline Workers and 626 cases of Traced Contacts.

A total of 34,845 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 33,862 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 21,992 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. 

1,141 persons are presently under facility quarantine, according to the report.
