The total count for COVID-19 in Nagaland crossed the 400-mark on Sunday as 28 more persons tested positive for the virus. Of the fresh cases, 20 persons are from Dimapur quarantine centres (QCs), 3 each from Kohima and Mon QCs and 2 are from Peren QCs.
As of June 27, the number of recoveries remained unchanged at 164, denoting a drop in the recovery rate to 39% from 41% the previous day. With this, the total number of active cases in the state now stands at 251.
According to the daily briefing on COVID-19 by Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, “All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 251 active cases are asymptomatic.”
The daily bulletin from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Peren district has the highest number of active cases at 82, followed by Kohima at 69. Dimapur has 55 active cases; Mon has 38, while Tuensang and Zunheboto districts have 3 cases each. Phek has a single active case as of 3:00 pm on June 28.
11,449 samples tested so far
According to the briefing on Sunday, out of the 415 cases, there are 4 cases between 0-17 years, 396 cases between 18-44 years, 13 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years.
Till date, a total of 11,449 samples have been tested, out of which 7,794 samples were received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) till June 28. At NHAK a total of 7,315 samples have been tested, out of which 341 samples have tested positive. A total of 4,548 samples have been tested by Truenat also, out of which 108 samples have tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 5,632 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine, Sinha stated.
