Nagaland COVID-19 tally reaches 2405 after record daily spike of 276 cases

Nagaland witnessed the highest daily surge in COVID-19 cases yet with 276 sample testing positive for the virus on August 4. 

This is the fifth day straight day that the State has reported over 100 fresh cases.

“276 new +ve cases have been confirmed out of 735 samples tested,” State Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter in the afternoon.

The new cases include 187 from 187 from Dimapur and 89 from Mon, he said. 

“Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation,” the Minister added. 
With this, the total number of cases in the State as of August 3, 3:11 PM stood at: Total – 2405, Active- 1740; and Recovered – 657. 

The official death count is 4. It was informed that “1 death is COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19, 1 death had co-morbidities & tested COVID-19 positive, under investigation.” There are two cases of migration.
