Nagaland DGP inaugurates Sechu-Zubza PS

Besesazo Kezo, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland today inaugurated a full-fledged police station at Sechu-Zubza along the stretch of Kohima-Dimapur highway.

Sechu-Zubza lies 15 km away from state capital Kohima.  This new Police Station will now cover 16 villages/towns in the Western Angami area.

Speaking on the occasion, Kezo termed the creation of the new Sechu-Zubza PS as a good beginning taking into consideration that there should exist atleast 4-5 police stations along the stretch of Kohima-Dimapur highway.

Maintaining that the Police force has a definite function in the human society, the DGP said that  policing is like a missionary work who tries to do good thing for the society to remove criminals and crimes from the society.

In this, he sought the support of the public to maintain peace and harmony in the society. “Police are friends of good people and enemies of bad people,” he said adding that law breakers are the  enemies of police and law abiding people are the friends of police. In civilized society, police station is required to protect the society and to keep free from crime and criminal, he said.

Kohima Superintendent of Police Rothihu Tetseo, NPS informed that as per the notification of the state government to establish 6 new police stations, 7 Outpost to full-fledged police stations and 6 new Outpost in Nagaland, Sechu-Zubza is also one of the police station created under that notification. “As per the government order, we are supposed to get the man power from the NAP Battalion, though we are yet to get man power and logistic support from the government and from the department, we are still going ahead with the formal inauguration to start this police station which is long overdue”, he said.

Sechu-Zubza SDO (C) Avelu Ruho, NCS, asserted that the establishment of Police Station at Sechu Zubza has fulfilled the long felt desired of the people of the area.

She was optimistic that the Police Station now put in place would check the menace of vehicle theft, quick response to accidents along the highway and also take care of various cases.

Western Angami Public Organization (WAPO) president Victor Khotsu extended gratitude to the state government for setting up this PS for Western Angami people and hoped that it will contribute towards effective maintenance law and order and protect the people of the area. The function concluded with vote of thanks proposed by M. Rhouvisie Nyuwi, NPS, Additional Superintendent of  Police, Kohima.
