Nagaland: DoTE hosts faculty development programme

Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education, Nagaland (DoTE), Kohima, conducted a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on January 22 and 23 at the Directorate’s Conference Hall.

 

The programme saw the participation of 93 faculty members and featured sessions by resource persons, including Prof Dr Khwaja M. Rafi, Director, Mewat Engineering College (Government of Haryana); Prof Dr Sukanta Kumar Naskar of the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata; Dr Sonam Palden, Principal, Advanced Technical Training Centre, Sikkim; and Zakie Rheicha, State Coordinator, National e-Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY.

 

According to DoTE, the sessions focused on ICT-enabled outcome-based pedagogy, implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, employability-oriented curriculum design and quality assurance. Topics also included experiential and learner-centric approaches, formulation of SMART objectives, and methods to train students to address unstructured problems.

 

The programme further included discussions on the use of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence tools in education, along with hands-on sessions on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID. Sessions on examination systems, work culture and ethics, time and conflict management, and strategic planning were also held.

 

During the valedictory session, Director of Technical Education Er Vipulhou Lhoungu thanked the resource persons and participants and encouraged faculty members to apply the learnings in their respective institutions to improve teaching and learning outcomes in polytechnic education.
