Nagaland: Extends helping hands to affected people, ABCC appeal

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) today “requested everyone, particularly the ABCC members, to extend their helping hands to the affected people in their own neighborhood, so that the needy ones are relieved in some ways.”

Stating that the incessant rains is taking a heavy toll on the whole of Nagaland and an unusual “emergency- like” situation is unfolding in Nagaland, the ABCC in a press statement from its Executive Director Rev. Dr. V. Atsi Dolie expressed extreme pain “to hear loss of lives, some of which are still being searched.”

“Many houses have been carried away by landslide, properties damaged, several families rendered homeless, and many more living with uncertainty,” it said, appealing “everyone to pray for the bereaved families, and all those who have been adversely affected.”

The ABCC also asked for prayer for those at the helms of affairs so that can address the situation appropriately.

Lauding the effort of the government, NGOs, social organizations, village authorities, etc., for responding to the crisis efficiently and doing all that they can to minimize hardship and inconveniences, it also called for more such cooperation.

“This seemingly bad time is bringing villages/communities closer together and making us stronger as a people,” it added.
