Kiphire, August 16 (MExN): Farm machinery distribution programme at Kiphire was held at Local Ground on August 15 organised by the Department of Agriculture, Nagaland with Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation, G.Kaito Aye as the special guest.
The minister expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of India for having launched the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan scheme with a vision to 'Double Farmers' income by 2022. He also requested all the Agriculture and Allied departments to assist and advice the farmers on how to improve their farming techniques and raise their income through development in agriculture and allied sectors. He mentioned the success of this programme depends on the constant monitoring and supervision from department and the cooperation of the farmers by utilising the resources made available. At last he appealed to the farmers on behalf of the Government and the Department of agriculture to effectively use modern machineries and bring about changes in agricultural development under Kiphire districts. 25 villages have been identified for implementation of the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan, which is a boon to the farmers of the district, he said.
Delivering the welcome address, the chairman thanked all the members present and mentioned that Kiphire is so fortunate for choosing as one of the aspirational districts. He also urged the people to work hard and to utilise the machineries properly. Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS while giving a short speech expressed gratitude to the department and mentioned that he was fully satisfied with the department for providing all the necessary machineries for the farmers. He expressed hope that the farmers in Kiphire district would be benefitted under the guidance and directives of Director and Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation in the days to come. Vote of thanks was proposed by R. Santsu Kithan DAO, Kiphire. Director of Agriculture, G. Ikuto Zhimomi was the chairman of the programme.
