Kohima, December 4 (MExN): The Department of Horticulture, Nagaland organized a farewell programme in honor of Qhutovi Wotsa, who was retiring as the first Additional Director of Horticulture after serving 35 years at different capacities. 

A DIPR report stated that the programme was held at the Conference Hall of Directorate of Horticulture, Kohima on December 2 which was chaired by Joint Director of Horticulture, N. Jerry Patton and was attended by the Advisor of Horticulture & Border Affairs, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture, Director, Officers and Staff of the Department, along with the family members of the outgoing officer.

Short speeches were delivered by Advisor of Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan; Agriculture Production Commissioner, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS; Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture, Anenla T Sato, IAS; Director of Horticulture, Dr R Elithung Lotha; technical staff; establishment staff and a host of well-wishers, who took turns to express the successful and illustrious career of the outgoing officer. 

The outgoing officer was lauded for his invaluable contributions in formalizing Cadre Review of the Department and Horticulture Service Rule 2019. In his speech, the outgoing officer emphasized on nurturing team spirit in the department and encouraged all the officers and staff to continue working in the best interest of the farming community. 

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Deputy Director of Horticulture, Ayieno Hibo.
