Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): Presidents of 11 District Gaonbura (GB) Associations on Friday censured the NSCN (IM) Konyak Region for its statement on August 12, which it alleged was a targeted at Nagaland GB Federation President Shahlem Konyak and GBs in general.
The “intention to manipulate our simple and honest President cannot be taken lightly,” it said in a press release on August 21, while asserting that it supports “the demand for early solution to the Naga political issue under RN Ravi as interlocutor.”
It further appealed the NSCN (IM) to “restrain from publishing such statements about GBs without proper understanding.” It is also to be noted that the Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) is our apex body; it represents the voice of Nagaland Goanburas, the village chiefs, the release added.
The signatories included Presidents of Mokokchung, Kohima, Wokha, Peren, Phek, Tuensang, Longleng, Kiphire, Dimapur, Tseminyu and Meluri District GB Associations.
