According to Governor La Ganesan, the ICFAI University, Nagaland, has lived up to reputation. He held that the institution deserves collective applause for empowering the students to excel not only academically but also, professionally and growing as individuals.

“The University has indeed lived up to its reputation by providing a nurturing environment conducive to higher education and learning,” said Ganesan, who addressed the Convocation 2024, of the university, at its campus in Sovima, Chümoukedima on April 24.

The university conferred various academic degrees, including doctoral, to 414 students at the ceremony. The Governor also handed away 32 gold medals.

While acknowledging the success of the students, he placed emphasis on keeping pace with a rapidly evolving job market, embracing entrepreneurship and becoming innovators and architects of innovative solutions by venturing into unexplored paths.

“Be job creators rather than job seekers… Your education has equipped you with the tools to not just partake in the world as it exists but to re-imagine and reshape it,” he told the graduating students.

He said that the graduates, through their respective fields, have a moral obligation towards applying their skill and knowledge for the greater societal good, dismantling barriers for the marginalised, while also upholding high ethical standards. “This involves honesty, integrity and the courage to stand up for what is right, even in the face of opposition or personal cost,” he said.

As the country envisages a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, he said that the contributions of the graduates of today will be pivotal in charting the course as “bearers of our collective hopes for a brighter, sustainable and inclusive future.”

“Let the knowledge you have gained fuel your passions and may your actions contribute significantly towards our shared vision for a developed India by 2047,” he said.
