Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya along with his wife Kavita Acharya laid the foundation stone of Shree Jaganath Temple and Lakshman School at Narep Timung Goan, Khatkati in Assam on July 15 in the presence of Dr. Numal Monin, MLA, Bokajan. The event was attended by large number of people from Bokajan, Khatkati, and Dimapur.
A press release informed that the Governor in his address stated temples are a place to create a better person. “It is a place where we all bow down our head and feel that we are part and parcel of one society. We get confidence and courage.”
He also stated service to human is service to God and that unity in diversity is the peculiarity of our country. “Peaceful coexistence of different religions is the specialty of our country…Let temple give us strength to stand united,” Acharya stated. He further asserted that everyone should be proud of one’s identity, which is our mother tongue. “Our first identity is our mother tongue,” according to him.
He also lauded Dr. NC Mohanty of Dimapur for donating the land for Shree Jaganath Temple. Decision of Shree Shree Jaganath Seva Samithi Trust to start a school and healthcare centre along with the temple, the Governor added, is the right mindset to strengthen society. He called upon the devotees present to strengthen the society through education. “When we educate a girl child, we educate a family and society.”
Meanwhile, the Governor called upon the achievers to be givers. “If we are achievers, it is because of so many factors. We have a debt towards our family, friends, society, and country. We should give back to our society to strengthen the society and nation. We have the potentiality to become a Superpower in the whole world.”
Advocate KK Paul, president Bengali Samaj, Dimapur and member Shree Jaganath Seva Samiti welcomed all, while Dr. Numal Momin, MLA, Bokajan also addressed the gathering.
Foundation stone for health unit and school projects of JSS Trust was laid by Kunja Nayak, president, JSS Trust and Dr. NC Mohanty.
