Nagaland Governor reviews NHIDCL projects

Kohima, March 9 (MExN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi held a detailed review meeting on the progress of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) projects for 2-laning of Kohima-Jessami Road (109.32 Kms), Chakabama- Zunheboto Road (115.53 Kms) and  Pfutsero-Phek Road (62.56 Kms) at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba on March 9.

According to a press release from PRO to the Governor, the ‘lackadaisical approach’ of some departments for not carrying out works despite the NHIDCL having deposited funds in their accounts 2-3 years ago was taken serious note of by the Governor.

Their inactions have added to unnecessary delay in the progress, the release stated.

The Governor advised the Deputy Commissioners of concerned districts to take active interests in resolution of local issues which cause avoidable delay in completion of the projects on time.

He also directed the concerned contractors to mobilise adequate resources – men, material and machines to achieve the target and exhorted all agencies/departments to work as a team.
