Nagaland Governor visits Tuophema Village

Kohima, August 17 (MExN): Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited Tuophema Village on August 17, where he experienced the community's rich cultural traditions and community-based tourism initiatives.

The Governor was accorded a warm welcome upon arrival, a press release from PRO Lok Bhavan Nagaland stated. During the visit, womenfolk at the Naga Kitchen presented a traditional weaving demonstration, offering the Governor a glimpse into the indigenous craftsmanship and weaving practices of the village.

As part of the 'Tuophema Experience' tour, the Governor visited several key attractions including Kharu, the Tuophema Amphitheatre, the Ancestral Kense's Hut, Tuophezhu Hall, and the Regional Craft and Resource Centre.

The visit underscored the village's efforts in preserving its cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism, local crafts, and livelihood generation. Officials noted that Tuophema exemplifies a distinctive blend of traditional practices, natural resources, and community-led initiatives aimed at creating sustainable opportunities for local residents while safeguarding age-old traditions.
