Nagaland govt constitutes committees to facilitate agriculture infrastructure fund

Kohima, October 5 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has constituted the State Level Monitoring Committee and the District Level Monitoring Committee to facilitate the implementation of financing facility under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. 

The State Level Monitoring Committee constitutes of Chief Secretary as the Chairman with the following members Agriculture Production Commissioner; Commissioner & Secretary, Cooperation; Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture; Commissioner & Secretary, Rural Development; Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Regional Director, NCDC, Gawahati; General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Dimapur; State Level Bankers Committee, Convenor; and State Nodal Officer, Secretary Agriculture as the Member Secretary. 

The State Level Monitoring Committee will implement the NIMC guidelines at the State level and provide feedback to NIMC. It will guide and steer the implementation of the scheme in the State. It will examine and approve the selected list of beneficiaries/projects for inclusion in the scheme in consultation with District Level Monitoring Committee and set the target as per OOMF format and review the progress regularly.

The District Level Monitoring Committee will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner as the Chairman; Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat/CDO/Municipal/ Town Committee and the Vice Chairman; with the following members District Agriculture Officer; Project Director, Rural Development; District Horticulture Officer; Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies; Lead District Manager of District Level Bankers Committee; and District Manager, NABARD. 

The District Level Monitoring Committee will be the first line of implementation and monitoring system within the overall framework. It will identify the beneficiaries to ensure viability of the project and prepare viable project reports to support the beneficiaries in collaboration with PMU.
