Kohima, October 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has declared a two-day State mourning as a mark of respect for veteran politician and minister CM Chang, who passed away on October 12.
Nagaland Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Justice & Law, Chang passed away today at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) after a brief illness. He was 77.
As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, it has been decided that two days of State mourning will be observed throughout Nagaland from October 13-14, informed a circular from State (acting) Chief Secretary J Alam to all Deputy Commissioners as well as Commissioner of Police, Dimapur and Districts' Superintendent of Police.
During the period of state mourning, the National Flag will be flown at half mast throughout Nagaland where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment, it said.
State Funeral will be accorded to Late CM Chang, it added.
