Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The State-Warehouse of Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DH&FW), Nagaland was inaugurated by Principal Director, Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie on January 30.
Dr Kevichusa Medikhru, Mission Director, NHM chaired the programme. He stated that the warehouse has been completed in record time of three months and applauded all the officials for the dedication and workmanship to complete the warehouse.
The State-Warehouse has been constructed under the initiative of Nagaland Health Project (NHP). NHP had committed to improve the storage facilities in the state and district level by constructing warehouse, meeting the standard of WHO.
“For the State-Warehouse, as per the assessment conducted by PHFI, the area recommended was 3500 square feet.
Given that the warehouse for the health department in the state, except for store rooms, accordingly during designing the warehouse the plinth area approved was 4320 Square feet,” stated a press release received here.
It stated that preparation of site and ground work for warehouse started on March 5, 2019 and the site preparation work was completed on October 29, 2019. Construction of warehouse using pre-fabricated materials started on November 21, 2020 and completed on January 27, 2021.
The warehouse has eight turbo vent installed for ventilation and proper circulation of air to avoid damping. One level of mezzanine floor is available which increase the storage area by 2304 square feet.
“The warehouse will help the health department by providing sufficient storage space for medical supplies and function as a central depot,” it added.
The project will also procure and install heavy duty palletise racking system and forklifts for the warehouse.
