Dimapur | April 23
The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Thursday declared the HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2026 results, with the latest figures showing a marginal decline in the HSLC pass percentage from last year’s high, while the HSSLC streams registered an overall rebound.
The HSLC overall pass percentage stood at 72.07% in 2026, down from 75.16% in 2025, but still above the 71.87% recorded in 2024 and significantly higher than the 64.69% seen in 2022.
In the HSSLC examination, Arts continued its steady upward climb, reaching 85.78% this year, highest in the six-year period under review. Commerce stood at 81.69%, showing a marginal improvement from 2025, while Science rebounded sharply to 85.67% after falling to 76.54% last year.
The stream-wise trends indicate that Arts has shown the most consistent year-on-year improvement, while Science has remained the most volatile, moving from above 90% in 2021 to the mid-70s in 2025 before recovering this year.
NBSE declared the results a day earlier than previously notified, issuing a revised notification on April 23 and citing a “technical problem related to the timer.”
