Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): The Nagaland In-service Doctors’ Association on Monday announced that it would go for three-day mass casual leave from April 18 to 20, as the state government has not taken any decisions on the superannuation age for doctors in the state.
In a press release, the NIDA stated that it had kept the proposed mass casual leave in abeyance at the government’s request on March 5. However, in the subsequent cabinet meeting on March 16, “no decision on the superannuation issue of the government medical doctors as raised by NIDA has been taken.”
It also pointed out that the one-year deadline assured by the State Chief Secretary last year expires on April 17 with ‘no solution seems to be in sight.’
In this connection, the NIDA directed all the district representatives to “collect the casual leaves of the entire NIDA members in their respective districts and keep ready for submission.” Following the three-day mass casual leave, all NIDA members are to assemble at Kohima on April 21 for the next course of action, it added.
