Participants during the marathon run held to commemorate the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 12.

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) in collaboration with Livingstone Foundation Society, Breeze Women Welfare Association and Community Health Initiative, Nagaland organised a marathon run to commemorate the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 12.
A press note from the Information Desk, LFI stated that the commemorative marathon run which was undertaken to create awareness about the importance of gender equity and women empowerment was flagged off from the LFI campus and the participants undertook the run up to Nagaland Zoological Park via Thahekhu village and back.
Before the flagging off, a brief programme was held which was attended by Director, LFI, Ani Yepthomi and Loreni Sophia, Director, Community Health Initiative Nagaland. The invocation prayer was pronounced by Medozhanuo Tepa, Chaplain, LFI while the significance of the day was related by Manshvi Rathore of Grade-XII.
On behalf of the custodians and janitors, the Housekeeping in-charge, Zubeni Odyuo flagged off the marathon which was attended by students, mentors, staff and members of LFI, BWWA and CHI. The participants also included some foreign medical students who are on an educational tour to Nagaland especially to learn more about menstrual hygiene among the rural womenfolk of the state.
