Nagaland must change status from consumer to producer state: M Chuba Ao

BJP Nagaland’s Policy Research & Intellectual Cell felicitates National Executives

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN):  Economic prosperity is the utmost need to ensure Atmanirbhar or self-reliant Nagaland and alter its status from a consumer to producer state, BJP National Vice-President Dr M Chuba Ao has stated recently. 

He was addressing the felicitation programme organised by members of Policy Research & Intellectual Cell of BJP Nagaland for National Incharge of Policy & Research Cell, Minority Front, Dr Jafreen Mehjabin and for him at Itiben Resort, Khatkhati, Assam on November 29.

To become a producer state, the reasons behind of the lack of industries & issues of unemployment, self-employment & private employment must be analysed, he noted, adding: “We must change from composite liabilities state to economically balanced state.”

He further noted that increase of deficit budget during regional parties reign is a major concern. 

Dr Ao also shared his thought on the issue 10,000 proxy & ghost teachers which was reportedly hilgightred by Nagaland government and called for discussing the threadbare to root out the problem. 

Lack of 1,700 Maths & Science teachers is a big challenge as it shadows the bright future of the Naga youth, he added. 

The BJP National VP also noted that “reason for low vaccination rate in Nagaland is thought provoking as third wave of Covid-19 is expected to strike soon.”

 “BJP being the largest political party of the world with its huge cadres in Nagaland need to be on its toes to exploit the best of the possibilities,” he said, adding that lack of awareness of the central schemes must be analysed to benefit the masses in general. 

“Intellectual Cell must interact with cross-section of the society to understand various issues faced by the masses & their best possible solutions in the respective districts,” he advised. 

He also lauded the activeness of the State Policy Research & Intellectual Cell, informed a press release from Dr Temsuwati Lkr, the Convenor of the Cell. 

Dr Mehjabin in address highlighted the minority’s issues, besides dwelling on the Policy & Research Cell's activities, which may differ at National and State Level. 

National interests cannot be diluted for petty issues of the states, she further opined. 

Dr Mehjabin also called for countering the fear of minority communities “according to the context & perspectives,” the release said.
She further batted for ensuring Minorities’ Voters Enrollment for the people who have been here for more than 6 months in Nagaland, the release said. 

As per the release, Dr Mehjabin further noted the benefits being provided through various schemes of the central government for all the masses, irrespective of caste, community, religion and creed must be enough of a reason to allay the fears of the minorities.

Among others, the State Cell’s Convenor Dr Temsuwat; Co-convener Hukiye Tissca; Member Secretary, Shanbeni Yanthan; and Treasurer Ajay Sethi, Er Levi Rengma, Tsasepi Sangtam and Gopal Sharma, were present on the occasion.
