Nagaland: National Highway 29...

Debris from a rockslide is seen blocking the drain after breaking the newly-constructed slope protection works, around 100 meters away from the Patkai Bridge, on National Highway 29 on May 3. The start of the hill section of the ongoing Dimapur-Kohima four-lane project is susceptible to regular rockslides, blocking the roads as well as affecting the progress of construction work. During the last hearing of the public litigation (Sou Motu) on the progress of the NH-29 construction works, the Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court on April 20 directed all stakeholders to complete the Package I and II within 15 days, except for the slope protection, to be completed on or before the end of May. The stretch falls under Package I of the NHIDCL SARDP-NE Project. (Morung Photo)
