Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) has informed all the HoDs, AHoDs, and awardees to collect the invitation cards/car pass for Independence Day celebration from the Establishment Branch of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Kohima from August 13 onwards during office hours.
NPCC president slates AICF representation
Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president, K Therie has criticized the decision of choosing BJP president, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer to represent NLA in the All India Christian Federation (AICF) organized by All Party Parliamentarians Conference on Christians from Scheduled Caste Background in New Delhi. Therie has termed the decision as “a deliberate action of the Speaker and Chief Minister to embarrass and symbolically insult Nagaland Society which is proud of its 95% Christian make up.”
NDPP president condoles
Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) president, Chingwang Konyak has expressed shock over the demise of Yeanglong Konyak on August 11 morning. In a condolence message, Chingwang said Yeanglong who hailed from Totok Chingnyu village under Mon district was an active social worker. He was the Chairman of the village council and also served as the vice president of Konyak Union. “In his death, Totok Chingnyu village in particular, and the Nagas in general have lost a sincere and hard working leader,” it added. Chingwang along with all rank and file of NDPP conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Nagaland SCPCR attends workshop
Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR) attended workshop on ‘Safety & Security of Children’ with State Commission for Protection of Child Rights at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on July 28. Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi was the main speaker. The Chairperson, Awan Konyak with one of the members, M.C Ongbou Chang attended the workshop.
