Assam Rifles apprehends NSCN/GPRN cadre
Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): Based on specific information Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles launched a search operation at Ketoupa Colony, Pfutsero town market on August 23. During the search operation, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended one, identified as Shekho (25), Maj L Vincent Patton, PRO, IGAR (N) informed through a press release. 13 extortion slips of NSCN/GPRN and Rs 300 were recovered from his possession. The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Pfutsero Police Station for further investigation.
JNV Alumni Association President passes away
Kohima, August 25 (MExN): Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya(JNV) Alumni Association has expressed shock and grief at the sudden and untimely demise of its President, Er Vilzo Tase from Jakhama village. He passed away at NHAK (ICU) on August 25, a DIPR release informed. Tase was 43 years old. He leaves behind his wife and 2 minor sons. The association further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. The funeral service of Er Vilzo Tase will be held at his private residence in Jakhama on August 26, 12:00 am.
DEO Dmp informs on Science Seminar
Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): District Education Officer, Dimapur has informed all the government and private schools under Dimapur District that District level Science Seminar 2018 will be held on September 13. The seminar will be conducted under the topic, “INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared”. R Amongla Jamir, DEO, Dimapur in a press release has informed those schools willing to participate in the seminar to submit the name of one participant (from Class VIII to Class X) to the office at room no-2 on or before September 7, during office hours.
ENPO offers condolence for Longkei Phom
Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organization (ENPO) has condoled the demise of Longkei Phom, mother of S Pangnyu Phom, Minister, Health & Family Welfare. A condolence message issued by Akiu Y, Info Secretary stated that she was ”a blessed mother of the family and for the people of Eastern Nagaland.” “Her blessings displayed towards the people as God fearing lady and the compassion and sympathy she held for the people shall be ever cherished,” it further added. The ENPO also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the almighty give strength and comfort at the hour of grief.
P &AR Dept to conduct Pension Adalat workshop
Kohima, August 25 (MExN): A workshop on Pension Adalat will be conducted on September 5 at Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima by P&AR Department. The workshop will be conducted for nodal officers of various departments who have been nominated to liaise with Accountant General's Office on pension matters, a release informed. Therefore, all departments have been informed to furnish the list of Nodal Officers along with their designation, mobile number and residential address on or before August 29. Further, nodal officer to Accountant General's Office must be a gazetted officer henceforth, the release further informed. Those departments whose nodal officers are not in the level of a gazetted officer are advised to replace them accordingly.
WASU backs KU, KNSK, NKSU memorandum
Mon, August 25 (MExN): Wakching Area Students’ Union (WASU) has extended support to the memorandum submitted by Konyak Union (KU), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Naginimora Konyak Students Union (NKSU) of Naginimora unit against the poor road conditions of Naginimora town (sub-division). A press note issued by its President Chinge M Konyak stated that the WASU “once again remind and appeal to the state government and concerned department (PWD,R&B) to take the matter with utmost concern and priorities as the said road has been neglected for the past two decades.”
ABAM Canaan Farmers’ School training in Tuli
Mokokchung, August 25 (MExN): Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) will be conducting its 6th Canaan Farmers’ School training in Tuli from September 4–8. Simultaneously, ABAM Canaan Farmers’ School Training Centre will be inaugurated. A press release from ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger stated that participants are expected from Ao churches, churches under NBCC and from Nagaland Development Outreach. Trainers from International Canaan Centre, Philippines and South Korea are also expected, it added.
