First to get NABL accreditation: NHAK clarifies

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): The Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) on Thursday issued a clarification that it is the first in Nagaland to obtain an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in the field of medical testing. The accreditation was obtained in December 2012. The clarification from NHAK comes in response to news reports on October 23 stating that Eden Medical Centre (EMC) is the first in state to get NABL accreditation. EMC has also clarified to a local daily that its pathology department was first in the discipline of clinical biochemistry/pathology, hemathology and immunohemathology.  

PAC NCD welcomes revert on toll fees structure

Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has welcomed the move of the DMC Administrator for enabling to revert back its toll fees structure to the previous rates which was a great relief for the consumers. A press release appended by Vekhosayi Nyekha Convenor, PAC NCD and K Ghokheto Chophy Co-Convenor PAC NCD further acknowledged its constituent tribal bodies, NWHD, non-Naga organizations, DCCI, DUCCF, BAN, GB's Union and other welfare organizations, the District Administration, the Press and Media fraternity for their timely intervention and support. The success of this issue is a sign of public awareness of its rights, which is a positive change, it added.  

Nagarjan Bridge opens for traffic

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): In view of the partial restoration of the approach road to the Nagarjan bridge by the PWD (R&B), the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur has allowed regulated single lane traffic for light vehicles with immediate effect. An order from the DC Dimapur informed that the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Dimapur will monitor the bridge and take precautionary measures daily. Traffic police personnel would be deployed in the bridge round the clock to regular traffic, it added.
