Minister visit Nagaland pavilion at IITF

Delhi, November 18 (MExN): The Minister for Public Works Department Nagaland, Tongpang Ozukum visited the Nagaland State Pavilion at the 38th India International Trade Fair (IITF) on November 18 at New Delhi. The event which started on November 14 will conclude on November 27. The Minister during his visit interacted with the entrepreneurs from the state. Twenty six entrepreneurs are participating in the current trade fair, a press release from PRO (IPR) informed. Products including colourful handlooms, handicrafts, organic fresh fruits and vegetables, dry vegetables, dry king chilli are displayed at the state pavilion.  

‘Cannot remain mute spectator’

Peren, November 18 (MExN): The Zeliang Peoples’ Organization Nagaland stated that “it has no interest wage paper war with any organization nor has any intention to create any communal disharmony or tension but cannot remain mute spectator when truth is distorted.” The ZPO (N) was referring to the Aqahuto Tokukuzho Kukami Kuqhakulu (ATKK) statement on establishment of Kiyevi Village which appeared in the local dailies on November 9. The ZPO (N) claimed that the Kiyevi village as well as the ATKK has disown the land owner which is “a severe betrayal to the land donor who has generously gifted the land as per the request of Kiyevi and Lothavi along with 41(forty-one) other members in 1939” A press release from the Media Cell ZPO (N) stated that despite all the denials and fabrications “the truth cannot be erased by anyone in any point of time.”  

Deputy CM condoles the demise of Late Y Odyuo

Kohima, November 18 (MExN): The Deputy Chief Minister on Nagaland Y Patton has condoled the demise of (L) Y Odyuo, former Nagaland Public service commission (NPSC) member on November 18 at Kohima. He was appointed as a member of the NPSC in 1986 and served till 1992. He was a member of Nagaland Senior Citizens Forum (NSCF) and Governing body of Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima. In a condolence message, Patton conveyed his “heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and beloved ones and I also pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.”  

KCC condoles

Tuensang, November 18 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Cultural Committee (KCC) condoled the death of former KTC President and current advisor (L) W Chuba Lam, who passed away on November 13 at Noklak hospital. In a condolence message, KCC President, Khongphe and general secretary Bamoi stated that (L) Chuba was “dedicated, sincere and true statesman who served the community selflessly till his last breath.” The Khiamniungan Cultural Committee prayed the Almighty give strength and solace to the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prays for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace, it added.  

NU-SET holds lecture on ‘India’s foreign policies’

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Ambassador JK Tripathi presented a lecture on the topic ‘India’s foreign policies: the road traveled and the road ahead’ and interacted with the BTech students of Nagaland University- School of Engineering and Technology on November 15. He talked about the different political relations between India and other countries like China, Pakistan and the USA post Indian Independence. He also stressed on India’s huge population of youths which is a boon for getting employment or providing services in other countries. He also noted that India could capitalize on the Information Technology revolution due to the proficiency in Mathematics. He also talked about India’s trade relations with other countries and the various avenues available for young entrepreneurs. Prof. SK Sharma, DEAN, NU-SET felicitated ambassador JK Tripathi during the programme.  

Dimapur Police seizes banned tablets

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Based on specific information, Dimapur Police on November 13 seized around 21 cartons of banned spasmo proxyvon tablets with an approximate market value of Rs.52,00000 (Fifty two lakhs) from a godown in Sematilla. According to a press release from Dimapur Police, PRO, one person namely Hotoi Sumi (31) was arrested. A case, in this connection has been registered at SBN Police Station for further investigation.  

ERKSU mourns demise of W Chuba Lam

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Eastern Region Khiamniungan Students' Union (ERKSU) has mourned the demise of Late W Chuba Lam, former KTC President. “With his demise, we have lost a great soul and visionary leader which left huge vacuum in our heart, stated a note from ERKSU President C Simon and General Secretary Tl Khaoshai. The ERKSU further condolence to the bereaved family.  

Mon DPDB meeting held

Mon, November 18 (MExN): The monthly meeting of District Planning & Development Board Mon was held on November 15 at DC’s Conference hall, Mon. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Thavaseelan K, IAS. He welcomed all the members and introduced new members. The following agenda were discussed and recommended during the meeting: proposal for creation of Primary Health Centre at Angjangyang Town, Registration of Pinnacle School, Totok Chingnyu, establishment of new GPS at L/Hangnyu newly recognized village, Creation of Forest Range Office at Aboi Headquarter. PowerPoint presentation on Departmental activities were given by the District Soil Conservation Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer Mon.  

Agri Dept Wokha bids farewell to DAO

Wokha, November 18 (MExN): Department of Agriculture, Wokha organized a farewell programme in honor of retiring Officer Renbomo Ngullie, Jt. Director and DAO, Wokha on October 31 at the conference hall. The programme was chaired by Dy, DAO Abenthung Lotha, stated a press release by Rosemary Ezung, SDAO, Wokha. Renphamo Kikon Jt. Director Agri, Nagaland Kohima highlighted the service profile of the retiring officer and acknowledged him for his valuable contributions during his entire service career in the Department and further congratulated the retiring officer for completing 35 years of service. Rosemary Ezung SDAO and Mhabemo Lotha HA, gave farewell speech on behalf of the Department and staffs. Special song was presented by DAO Wokha Staff which was followed by a mass prayer.  

NDPP minority wing mourns demise of K Yamukam

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Minority Organisation, Dimapur Region has expressed sadness over the demise of former Minister Late K Yamukam. “His time as a leader and the services he rendered to the Naga people will always be remembered,” a condolence note from the president Suresh Paira stated. The Organisation has also extended deepest condolences to his family members.
