CL John condoles
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): C L John, MLA 45 Tehok A/C on March 9 condoled the demise of former minister Noklem C Konyak. Noklem C. Konyak, has represented 45 Tehok Assembly Constituency, which happens to be the same assembly constituency I am representing at present, John wrote in his condolence message. “During his span of life, he was proved, undoubtedly one of the sincere, hardworking and bonafide citizen as well as one of a competent public leader in his own capacity with integrity, accountable and vast wisdom,” the message read, adding that “it would be very difficult to fill the vacuum caused by his premature death.” Sharing sorrow and sympathy with the bereaved family, C L John and family prayed for peace and solace to the departed soul.
Assorted liquor seized in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): The Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, Dimapur informed that 709 bottles of assorted liquor was seized from two locations in Dimapur by the Excise mobile squad on March 7. In this connection, two persons were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act, 1989. The seized items have been kept at the Malkhana for future destruction, the Superintendent informed in a press release on Monday. He further warned that anyone found indulging in illegal sale of liquor will be severely dealt with as per the law, and sought the participation of all the citizens in the effort to curb the flow and sale of illegal liquor in Dimapur by providing information to the concerned department about such activities.
Nursing tutors, staff, and students informed
Kohima, March 9 (MExN): All the nursing tutors, staff and students who have completed the course on Indian First Aid Manual 2016 (IFAM 7th Edition) from the following institute i.e. Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), Imkongmeran Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) and College of Nursing (CIHSR, Dimapur) to update the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland, on the present position eg. They have been asked to update their status, address for correspondence and contact No. etc. for compiling the list of trained in First Aid Manual (7th Edition) for possible short term teaching employee and volunteering in time of need. They have been asked to keep in touch with General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland, Red Cross Complex, Raj Bhavan Road, Kohima.
One arrested with IMFL
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): The District Excise Dimapur duty party, while manning Chümoukedima Excise check gate, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number NL 01T 9530, and recovered 388 bottles of assorted Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) on March 9. According to a press release from T Arilong Longkumer, Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, one person, identified as Aren R/o Kohima town was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989. On investigation, the accused disclosed that the consignment was purchased at Lahorijan, Assam and was meant for sale at Kohima.
Unidentified body recovered from NH-29
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): One unidentified dead body of a non-local male was recovered from NH-29 on March 9. The deceased, around 20 years of age, had a dark complexion and was wearing a green and blue checked shirt, blue and red color t-shirt, grey formal long pant and black belt, according to a press release from the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police on Monday. Inquest was conducted on the spot but no suspect of foul play or external marks was established. On completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur for post mortem examination and identification, the release added. Claimants, relatives or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, Chümoukedima, and Dimapur.
LSU new team formed
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): The new team of office bearers of the Lotha Students' Union (LSU) for the tenure 2020-2023 was elected on February 20. As per a press release from LSU, the new team is led by Ashanthung Humtsoe as President, Pithungo Shitio as General Secretary and Motsuthung Tsopoe as Speaker. Change of guard was held on March 3 at LSU office, it said.
