Kohima, January 4 (MExN): The 63rd general council of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council will be held from January 24 to 26 at Sakraba Baptist Church. It will be held under the theme “Salvation by grace through faith.”
Mao Chiithuni on January 7
Kohima, January 4 (MExN): The Ememei (Mao) is celebrating Chiithuni on January 7, 2014. The Mao Hoho Dimapur and Mao Union Kohima are observing Chiithuni in their respective jurisdictions at Dimapur and Kohima. Mao Hoho Dimapur general secretary Athilu Khrasi in a press release has requested all the Ememei resident of Kohima and Dimapur to join the celebration at the respective venues. All the in-laws of Ememei’s are cordially invited to join the celebration.
Political affairs committee meeting
Kohima, January 4 (MExN): A meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of the State Government will be held on January 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the banquet Hall of the Chief Minister’s official residence, Kohima. All the members of the Committee have been requested to attend the meeting. This was informed in a circular issued by the Chief Secretary, Nagaland.
ZPO Dimapur on Zbto on KA incident
Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): Zeliang People Organization Dimapur has expressed deep regret at the “shameful” incident leading to the conflict during the festive season and extended solidarity to the Sumi people. It also offered concern and sympathy to the injured and families of those deceased in the “unfortunate conflict” and strongly affirmed its support to the “genuine cause.” Meanwhile, ZPO expressed concern regarding the Rengma people of Karbi Anglong. “When peace talks and understanding was already incited, the repeated ethnic clash between the Rengma and Karbi people is very sad,” it stated. Declaring that the two communities have been peacefully co-existing together since “time immemorial”, it suggested the elders and leaders of both sides to see that the case is settled with mutual understanding based on historical facts for a permanent solution.
Meeting of AHODs and HODs
Kohima, January 4 (DIPR): The Chief Secretary of Nagaland has convened a meeting of all AHODs and HODs on January 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Secretariat Conference Hall, vide Circular No. GAB/GEN/12/2013 (Pt) dated 4th January 2014, to discuss on celebration of Republic Day 2014.
