More areas in Kohima demarcated as ‘Sealed Area’
Kohima, August 13 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has notified that in view of the detection of a COVID-19 positive person residing more areas in Kohima is demarcated as ‘Sealed Area’ in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing.
All movement of person/vehicles within the defined Sealed Area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with immediate effect.

Quarantine mess sealed in Wokha
Wokha, August 13 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha has issued an order for sealing of the quarantine mess and two houses at Blue Hill colony, Wokha for a period of 96 hours for necessary contract tracing and active surveillance with effect from August 10. This order will come into immediate effect, the order stated.
Tseminyu discusses I-Day celebration
Tseminyu, August 13 (MExN): Addressing the Tseminyu Department Officers coordination meeting held at ADC conference hall on August 13, the newly posted ADC W Manpai Phom acknowledged his appreciations in managing covid-19 related duties duly by the officials and NGOs/public of Tseminyu Sub-division. The meeting discussed the forthcoming Independence Day for which ADC informed that only Flag hoisting and guard of honour will be held at ADC office premises, 9:00 am on August 15, as per Government SOP for COVID-19 pandemic. ADC also informed that hoisting of National Flag in all the government offices and Institutions in Tseminyu Sub-Div by 6:00 am is a must as usual. The meeting resolved that there would be a campaign for general public on the management for COVID-19 pandemic crisis in Tseminyu Sub-Division.
Govt schools directed to celebrate Independence Day
KOHIMA, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education has informed principals of all Government Higher Secondary Schools and Headmasters of Government High Schools situated at district headquarters to celebrate Independence Day at their respective schools on August 15 observing all the required protocols. A notice from the Principal Director, DoSE informed that two photographs showing the Principal/Headmaster hoisting the national flag and staff attending the program should be forwarded through e-mail to reports.dosennl@gmail.com before 9:30 am without fail with the name of the school clearly indicated in the attached file. However, all those schools that are being used as quarantine centers due to the current pandemic are exempted.
State level I-Day celebration to be streamed live
Kohima, August 13 (MExN): The state level function of the 74th Independence Day celebration on August 15 at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima will be streamed live at MyGovNagaland Facebook and YouTube channel from 9:00 AM onwards,a DIPR report informed on Thursday.
Naga Rising asks NPGs to come together
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The Naga Rising today called upon Naga political groups to “exhibit political astuteness by coming together for the common good and sit across the table to work on the convergences because we believe our aspiration towards a shared belonging as one people will begin from there.”
The possibilities are endless if all Nagas unite to build on it, a press release from the Naga Rising stated.
It stated that the Indo-Naga peace process has successfully navigated the churning of Indian politics through the decades and seen continuity of several Prime Ministers and governments. “This broad and sustained support towards the Naga peace process should not be undermined at this crucial juncture,” it added.
The Naga Rising said that “our ability to stand together today would create room for us to take peaceful and democratic resolutions of all pending issues in their own time.” “If we can do this together, it will help us set a political roadmap and a vision for the future. This is the best guarantee for our land, the people, and for our identity as Nagas,” it asserted.
Agarwal Scan Lab unsealed
Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): In view of Agarwal Scan Lab in Dimapur being sanitized, and all the precautionary measures taken as per the government guidelines, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has ordered the unsealing of Agarwal Scan Lab with immediate effect, a DIPR report stated on August 13.
LCWO, KKK condemn sexual assault on minor
Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): Reacting to the reports of a minor girl being sexually assaulted by her father in Kohima on August 6, the Leirie Chazou Women Organisation (LCWO) on Thursday condemned the “inhuman act.” “A heinous crime of this nature will not be tolerated at any cost,” it stated while appealing to the concerned authority to serve befitting punishment to the guilty at the earliest. In a separate statement, the Kuozhüzou Kewhimiapfu Krotho (KKK) condemned the incident and stated that “There is no place for such heinous and inhumane behaviour in a civilised society.” It demanded a ‘befitting and exemplary punishment’ for the perpetrator. “Under no circumstances the accused should be granted bail by the law enforcing agency,” it asserted. The KKK also prayed for comfort and strength for the family.
