Kohima Inter-ward/shops competition 2021

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all the ward panchayats/shops under KMC that the 11th edition of the annual ‘Inter-Ward/Shops competition 2021’ will be held in the month of December 2021. Stating this in a circular, KMC Administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer informed all to keep their respective wards/shops clean and tidy with proper festive illumination. Inspection as per various aspects of the award criteria has already begun, Longkumer added.

NSCN (IM) mourns

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Ngazeklei Ruivah, Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Office, NSCN/GPRN on November 20 due to illness. He was from Somdal village under Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR). He joined the Naga national service on the November 18, 2008. A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) stated that late Ruivah “served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his death is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered for all time to come.” The NSCN (IM) further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family member.

Padum Pukhuri Village Council seizes liquor 

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Padum Pukhuri Village Council conducted surprise checking for liquor and alcohol products within the village jurisdiction and seized a “large quantity of scotch whiskey, rum and beer” on the night of November 19. A press release from the village council informed that all those involved were made to appear before the council the following morning. “The council imposed nominal monetary penalty on them for violating the council resolution and made them to sign an agreement to stop their illegal business once and for all in the village jurisdiction,” it added. The council later destroyed the seized items in the presence of different community leaders, women organisatios, church leaders and prominent citizens of the village. 

KMC informs 

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all previous tenants of the Super Market Complex, Kohima that there will be a physical verification on November 25 and 26 from 11:00 AM onwards at the KMC office. All concerned have been requested to come for the verification in person along with the following documents: Any photo identity card such as Aadhaar, driving license, EPIC, PAN Card, allotment order and any document relating  to their previous tenancy at Super Market Complex. This was stated in a release issued by T Lanusenla Longkumer, Administrator, KMC.

Rotary Club Khm to observe chartered night on Nov 22

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Rotary Club Kohima, Rotary International, Dist-3240 is celebrating its 18th chartered night on November 22 at Capital Convention Center, Kohima from 5:00pm onwards. President of Rotary Club Kohima, Kezhokhoto Savi has requested all club members with their families to attend the event.

Walkathon to demand Tseminyu district on Nov 23

TSEMINYU, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) will be organizing a walkathon in solidarity with the people's long-standing aspiration for creation of a separate Tseminyu district on November 23, pursuant to the resolutions adopted during the RSZ Executive Council Meeting held on November 11 at Tseminyu. This event of Rengma Selo Zi is being organized to implore upon the popular government of the day to expedite the process for creation of Tseminyu District and to register displeasure over the 73 years lapses despite the creation of Tseminyu Bench Court in 1948 which remain a sub-division till date. The walkathon will be flagged off at 58 KM Milestone Tseminyu at 3:00 AM. Participants will proceed to Kohima and culminate at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima where a public reception will be held.
