NNC Central Executive Council meeting 

Kohima, April 6 (MExN): NNC Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting will be held at the office of NNC, Peace Camp Chedema on April 14 at 10:00 am. The meeting will discuss on various issues pertaining to the present situation and others, Acüyi Vadeo, Joint Secretary, NNC Nagaland informed in a press release. “No separate information will be served for this. Therefore all regional presidents and all CEC members are requested to attend the meeting without fail,” it added. 

KVYO welcomes ban on ‘illegal taxis’

Kohima, April 6 (MExN): The Kohima Village Youth Organisation has welcomed the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kohima’s decision to ban private vehicles from plying as taxis in Kohima. In a press release on Tuesday, KVYO President Ruokuoneituo Phewhuo and General Secretary Neingusalie Khruomo stated that the union would extend its fullest support to the ban and and urged the authority to enforce the said order at the earliest. It also appealed the public “not to entertain or hire any private vehicle taxis as it was illegal.” The organisation further requested the enforcing agency to penalise any “illegal taxis” found plying in Kohima, as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act without bias.

NPF COB meeting on April 14

Kohima, April 6 (MExN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has convened the Central Office Bearers (COB) meeting of NPF on April 14 at 11:00 AM in the Central Office HQs., Kohima. In this connection, NPF secretary general Achumbemo Kikon requested all the Central Office Bearers to attend the said meeting positively. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on COVID -19 shall be strictly followed, Kikon added.

KCSU union assembly on April 17

Kohima, April 6 (MExN): The first Union Assembly of Kohima Chakhesang Students’ Union (KCSU) for the tenure 2021-22 will be held on April 17 at 11:00 AM in the conference hall of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima. All the subordinate units and affiliated units are compulsory to send two representatives to the Assembly. Further, all seniors and well wishers are also cordially invited. Government SOPs guidelines will be strictly followed, according to KCSU

Construction materials on  road within Kohima banned 

Kohima, April 6 (MExN): In pursuance of the order of Deputy Commissioner Kohima, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all concerned that in the interests of public safety and property, dumping/off-loading of construction materials on the road is banned within Kohima town with immediate effect. All such materials are to be immediately removed by the concerned owners, stated KMC administrator Kovi Meyase. In exigent cases whereby off-loading of such materials is inevitable, concerned owners should ensure that off-loading and removal are made between 8:00 pm to 7:00 am and not prior or after the scheduled time. All concerned have been directed to comply, failing which penal actions as per relevant section of law will entail, KMC stated.

DDPODU to elect new president on April 23

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): The Dimapur District Pick UP Van Owners and Drivers Union (DDPODU) has informed that its presidential election will be conducted on April 23. In a press release on Tuesday, the union’s Election Commission informed that the filing of nomination papers would be open from April 12 to 3:00 pm on April 14 and scrutiny would be conducted on April 15. Last date for withdrawal of nomination has been fixed on April 17. Further, the release stated that polling would be conducted from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on April 23 at the union’s head office located in Zeliangrong village, Dhobinala, Counting of votes would be conducted from 3:00 pm onwards on the same day, followed by declaration of results, it added. It directed the intending candidates to contact the EC at the head office from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, while adding that only members having union identity cards are eligible to vote.
