
Dimapur Police informs on diversion of traffic
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur has issued an order for diversion of traffic through the Dimapur-Dillai road instead of the usual plying of traffic through Dimapur-Bokajan road on December 20. A press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police informed the order has been issued in view of an eviction drive to take place on December 20 at Lahorijan Block-03 at Dudu Colony, Borjan Mouza by the District Magistrate, Karbi Anglong, Diphu, Assam.
Nagaland chopper service suspended
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) on Friday informed that the State helicopter service will not be available for regular schedule/sortie as well as for chartering, except for state emergencies from December 24 to 26, 2021 and December 31 to January 2, 2022. The NST General Manager in a press release said that the services have been suspended “in view of Christmas and New Year holiday and for technical maintenance of the helicopter” and it expressed regret for the “inconveniences.”
Firing incident at Wapher village, TSU condemns
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Tikhir Students' Union (TSU) has condemned the firing by miscreants in the early hours of December 17 at Wapher village. “The intentional attack with an ill motive has created confusion as to why such miscreants (of) around fifty armed people have fired rounds of bullets around the village during this festive season,” a press release from the TSU President, Temong Y Tikhir and General Secretary, Wongsuthong T stated. “There are ways to talk and discuss on any issue amicably without using bullets or weapons. But, why this act of arm talks takes place in this peaceful environment?” the TSU questioned. It meanwhile asked the law enforcing authority to investigate the situation and take necessary action against the culprits at the earliest. The TSU further hoped that no issue would arise out of the situation, and requested all citizens not to be provoked nor be alarmed.
