District Court Zunheboto shifted 

Zunheboto, December 8 (MExN): The District Court Zunheboto has been shifted to New District Court Building at South Point (E) (besides District Hospital, Zunheboto) on November 25.

In a notification, the District and Sessions Judge Zunheboto, Ajongba Imchen has informed all the public/litigants/advocates to avail all court related services at the New District Court Complex. 

Kohima Police recovers 350 kg of contraband ganja

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): A team of Kohima Police recovered 350 kg of contraband ganja from a vehicle during a routine surveillance duty from Agri Colony, Kohima on December 7, an official release informed. 

The contraband comprising of 35 packets of 10 kg each was neatly wrapped in polythene sheet, stated the release from PRO, Kohima Police. As per the police, the value of the seized consignment is found to be worth approximately Rs. 17.5 lakh. 

Accordingly, two persons identified as Solomon (20 yrs) and Kadakho (19 yrs) have been arrested and the contraband along with the vehicle have been seized, it said. 

Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle with the contraband was proceeding towards Dimapur from Senapati, it informed.

A case has been registered at South Police Station for the purpose of further investigation, it added. 

NSCN R conveys Terhunyi greetings

Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): The NSCN (R), via its MIP, has conveyed Terhunyi greetings to the Angami Nagas. 

The Angami Nagas celebrates many festivals (nyi) and 'Terhunyi' is also one of them which falls on December 9 as a 'Thanksgiving' to God for 'Health and Good Harvest,' it said. 

As our Angami brothers and sisters celebrate Terhunyi, may the spirit of oneness, reconciliations, forgiveness, forbearance, peace and harmony continue to prevail, the NSCN (R) conveyed. 

"May the Good Lord also continue to 'Bestow and Shower His Love, Grace and abundant Blessings upon them," it added. 

State Tech Scholarship Scheme online application extended

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): The Addl. Director & HOD, Technical Education, Er M Nakro has informed all the students belonging to the Indigenous and Schedule Tribes of Nagaland that the invitation of online application for State Technical Scholarship Scheme has been extended till January 31, 2022. Students who have not registered or applied for the said scholarship scheme can apply from the common Scholarship portal www.scholarship.nagaland.gov.in

RPPF Kohima Science College informs

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 8 (MExN): The Rengma and Pochury Prayer Fellowship (RPPF),Kohima Science College,Jotsoma will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on December 18 at Campus Christian Fellowship (CCF), Kohima Science College. ZakeviKessen, Associate Pastor (Youth), Rengma Baptist Church, Kohima (RBCK)will be the anniversary speaker. 

BSNL mobile tower and optic fiber internet facility were inaugurated at Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS) campus in Bade Village. The occasion was graced by the presence of Johny G Rengma, Director, NSTFDC, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and JB Chavan, (ITS) General Manager, BSNL Nagaland and his team of engineers. 

CrPC in Mon from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am

Mon, December 8 (MExN): DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, on December 7 issued an order with partial modifications of office order dated December 5, that the imposition of Section 144 under CrPC, 1973 in Mon Town shall continue to remain in force only from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am with effect from December 7 with the following conditions: Gathering of more than five persons in public places is prohibited; All vehicular movement of non-essential nature is prohibited.

Dimapur police on assemblies, processions on public roads 

Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): In accordance with the provisions of Sec. 30 & 31 Act V of 1861, the Dimapur Police on Wednesday informed that all assemblies and processions on the public roads or in the public streets or thorough fares in Dimapur District are to be conducted with Permit/Licence without which, the assembly or procession shall be deemed to be unlawful assembly. Therefore, interested parties are directed to obtain Permit/Licence from the office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the police stated in a press release. 

NPSC admits error in question

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): NPSC Secretary, John Tsulise Sangtam, NCS has issued a clarification regarding the report on ‘KSON seeks clarification from NPSC’ which appeared on December 1 issue in various local media, wherein the KSON has sought clarification on a question asked in the NPSC preliminary Examination held on November 27. The KSON stated that “the question asked which one of the four tribes (Zeliang, Angami, Lotha and Kuki) was not recognized officially by Nagaland Government.” “The NPSC admit that the particular question is wrongly framed. In this respect it is assured that necessary remedial measures shall be taken in accordance with the existing practices of the Commission,” the NPSC Secretary stated. 

PUK general meeting postponed

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): Phom Union Kohima (PUK) has informed all the Phom citizens residing in Kohima that its 35th annual general meeting which was scheduled to be held on December 11 has been postponed till further notice, as per the directives issued by the ENPO to observe seven day mourning for those innocent civilians who were mercilessly killed by para military force on December 4 at Oting village, Mon district. The union has appealed to all its concern citizens to bear with the inconveniences. The union has also condemned the cowardice act of the Indian security force for the inhuman act of killing innocent lives. 

Wokha DC notifies on clearance within RoW 

Wokha, December 8 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, in an official notification has notified for clearance of the existing Right of Way (RoW) permission to the PWD (NH) department from KM 72.4 to KM 74.4 of the NH-61 (New NH-02) under Wokha District. The DC Wokha informed that construction of National Highway is a time bound exercise which must be undertaken and completed within the time frame and should not be delayed unnecessarily. In the larger interest of the public, the properties/structures owners are directed to ensure clearance of properties/Structures falling within the demarcated RoW from KM 72.2 to KM 74.4 of the NH-61 (New NH-02) under Wokha District, within 30 days from the issue of this notice. The notice was issued on December 7.
