NSCN (IM) Gen Secy returns to Hebron 

DIMAPUR, APRIL 22 (NNN): The NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah has returned to Camp Hebron Camp from New Delhi on April 22. According to sources, he was accompanied by some leaders of the organisation. It was learnt that NSCN (IM) leaders and Government of India representatives were supposed to hold another round of dialogue on April 16 in New Delhi. However, due to the worsening COVID-19 situation, it was postponed “indefinitely.” According to the sources, Muivah will go back to New Delhi for talks only after the pandemic situation improves.

Dimapur Jio centre office, UCO 
Bank Chümou branch sealed

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent spread of COVID-19, DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has ordered sealing of Jio Centre Office, 1st Floor City Tower Building for 48 hours with immediate effect during which time sanitization shall be done by the management. In another order, DC Dimapur notified that UCO Bank Chümoukedima branch has been sealed for 48 hours from the date of issue of this order, during which time necessary sanitization of the premises shall be done by the management. He cautioned that violating containment measures will be penalized as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section-188 of the IPC.

Advisory for returnees under Longleng

Longleng, April 22 (MExN): In continuation of advisory issued on April 15, guidelines have been added for implementation by all villages and wards authorities under Longleng district for returnees coming to Longleng from outside the state: returnees/traveler who produce negative report of COVID-19 test done not earlier than three days prior to arrival in the district shall be exempted from quarantine. The returnees/traveler should carry soft/hard copy of the negative test report and produce it wherever asked by competent authority.

DC Peren issues COVID restrictions 

Peren, April 22 (MExN): In view of rising cases of COVID-19 and need to take precautions against spread of COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS has informed that all the officers and staff under the establishment of DC Office, Peren, officers and staffs of departments functioning from the DC Office building and public visitors to DC Office will strictly adhere to COVID-19 appropriate practices/behavior such as compulsory wearing of face masks; to maintain social distancing as far as practicable; and frequent use of hand sanitizers/hand wash. Further, no public visitors will be allowed entry inside the offices/branch without the use of face masks. SDO (C) Peren Hq. will be officer-in-charge for ensuring the protocols are followed.

NSCN (R) greets on Tsukhenye festival

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has conveyed Tsukhenye festival greetings to the Chakhesang Nagas. The NSCN (R) in a message issued through its MIP said that Tsukhenye festival lasts for four days. On the first morning of the Tsukhenye, the village elder sacrifices a rooster, and the men folk partake in purification ritual by bathing in designated river, stream or well early in the morning. “The NSCN (R) is of the firm belief that through this festival, our Chakhesang brothers and sisters will continue to shine in every aspect and bring about peace and tranquility amongst us,” it stated. 

NSCN (IM) cautions against price hike 

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today said it would be highly unethical on the part of dealers and shopkeepers in the markets to exploit the present situation following the spike in corona virus and speculations of lockdown. “There are reports of some business people taking undue advantage and had hiked the price of essential items like Mustard Oil selling at Rs 150 per liter instead of Rs 100 the usual rate. The price of other items like Daal has also been hiked,” it alleged in a press release. Stating artificial scarcity of essential items/goods in the markets should not be allowed, it said, “We are compelled to caution the dealers and shopkeepers not to resort to hoarding of essential commodities to burden consumers and common people at the time of pandemic crisis.”
