Total ban on plastics in Phek 

Phek, February 17 (MExN): As per the order for restricting the use of plastic in Nagaland the Phek Town Council reminded the business community and public that a total ban of plastic shall be imposed continuously till date. Therefore the ADC and Administrator Phek Town Council, Tsuktimar Jamir has informed that existing any plastic bag has to be disposed within fifteen days from the date of notice for which heavy penalties shall be impose at upon any defaulters.

 

'SDG innovation participatory action research initiative’

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): The SDG Coordination Centre (SDGCC), Planning & Coordination Department has come up with the “Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Innovation Participatory Action Research Initiative” to promote the implementation of small and innovative projects which will contribute towards the achievement of SDGs at the grassroots level. The initiative aims to find innovative ways by which the government can play a role in promoting 'People Action'. A total of three projects amounting to INR two lakh each will be awarded to the most innovative projects. The SDGCC, Planning & Coordination Department, opened up the “SDG Innovation Participatory Action Research Initiative” applications for the individual/organization of Nagaland from February 18 to March 12. Power supply disruption in Longleng 

Longleng, February 17 (MExN): The Sub-Divisional Electrical Office, Longleng has informed that the upgradation of power transformer of 1 MVA to 2.5 MVA is underway at Longleng Sub-station. Therefore, there will be complete outrage of power supply at Longleng district during day and partially at night till the completion of the upgradation work. The citizens of Longleng district have been requested to co-operate and bear the inconvenience.
 

Meeting called to discuss reservation in public employment 

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): To discuss the issues pertaining to the reservation in public employment, a consultative meeting of the working group of the cabinet sub-committee along with the civil society organization will be held on March 5 at 10:00 am at Hotel Japfü, Kohima. In view of space constraints and covid-19 protocols, the delegation is limited to a maximum of three members each from NSF, ENSF, ENPO, ENGOA, CNCTC, and TPO. Therefore, all members of the working groups and civil society organization have been requested to attend the meeting accordingly.
 

85,397 applicants on live register of employment exchanges in Nagaland

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): Altogether, 85,397 applicants remain on the live register of employment exchanges in Nagaland as on December 31, 2020. This was stated in the annual administrative report 2020-2021 of the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurs tabled by Nagaland’s chief minister Neiphiu Rio on February 15 at the 7th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) here. Out of 85,397 applicants, the number of male stands 57,520 and female at 27, 877.
