Mokokchung police arrest 5 for possession of illegal drugs 

DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): Mokokchung Police arrested five person on July 14 and 15 respectively for possession of illegal narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. 
According to a press release issued by Addl Superintendent of Police & PRO, Mokokchung police while conducting frisking and checking of vehicles at Settsu junction on July 14, a bike (Royal Enfield) bearing registration number AS -03 -W 0451 and a scooty bearing registration number AS-03- AD 7321 were intercepted and on thorough checking recovered Spasmo Proxyvon capsules and Novocoff-CT cough syrup from their possession. 
Four person identified as Imliwapang (35 years), Imlichuba (32 years), Tsuknungwati (47 years) and Imkongnungsang (37 years) were arrested in this connection. 
In another arrest, one person identified as Enos K Jimo (40 years) was arrested on July 15 from Sangtemla ward, Mokokchung for possession of suspected brown sugar/heroin. 
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered and further investigation is in progress, the press release informed. 

Meeting of Committee on Petition postponed to July 25

DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): MLA and chairman, K Konngam Konyak has postponed the meeting of the Committee on Petition scheduled on July 20 to July 25 at 11 AM due to unavoidable circumstances. All members of the Committee of Petition have therefore been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting as rescheduled. 

MLA Khamo interact with Chozuba govt dept heads

DIMAPUR JULY 18 (MExN): MLA and Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudech Khamo interacted with the head offices under Chozuba Sub-Division at the Additional Deputy Commissioner's (ADC) office on July 18.
A DIPR report said during the meeting, the office heads presented brief reports on the activities of their respective departments, including the banking sector and security officials. The school education department highlighted on the shortage of teachers and urged the Advisor for immediate support and intervention to fill up vacancies caused by deaths, promotions, retirements, and transfers. 
Another issue raised was the appointment of Grade IV landowners, leading to the closure of schools and hindering the smooth functioning of academic affairs. The program was chaired by ADC Imokokla. 

Niuland DPDB meeting held

DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): The Niuland District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting took place on July 18 at the DC Conference Hall in Niuland. Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Sara S Jamir urged all heads of offices to prioritize the interests and requirements of their respective departments, particularly in areas of development and construction. Several agendas were approved during the meeting, including the construction of the DCP/SP Office at Niuland, upgradation of Kuhuboto GHS to GHSS, upgradation of GPS to GMS Little Flower School Hozukhe, establishment of GPS at Kughato village, and approval of LADP 2023-24 schemes for 4- Ghaspani-1 A/C. 

Rengma Hoho executive meet on July 21 

DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho will hold its executive committee meeting on July 21 at 12 noon at Riga Thong Memorial Hall, Tseminyu Town. All the president of every constituent body and Rengma frontal organizations accompanied by two representatives have been requested to attend the meeting positively, a press release issued by the Rengma Hoho informed.
