Kiphire SP office sealed
Kiphire, June 4 (MExN): Kiphire Deputy Commissioner & DTF Chairman has ordered sealing of Superintendent of Police (SP) office, Kiphire with immediate effect for 48 hours after detection of COVID-19 positive cases on June 4. He cautioned that any person violating the containment measures will be liable for punishment, as per provision of section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides Legal Action under Section 188 of the IPC.
Chozuba NDPP youth wing mourn demise of Medovoyi
Kohima, June 4 (MExN): The NDPP youth wing 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency mourned the sudden demise of Medovoyi Medeo, president NDPP 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency, who passed away on June 3 in Dimapur. In a condolence message, NDPP youth wing 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency president Razukuyi Khusoh and general secretary Vevohu Epao described late Medovoyi as an upcoming promising leader vested with different personality for the welfare of the people. In his death, the party had lost a visionary leader, it added.
M-WhatsApp friends extend support to Old Age Home
Kohima, June 4 (MExN): In a benevolent gesture amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of social media friends from different walks of life came together in extended support to Old Age Home, Meriema under Kohima district.
The M-WhatsApp friends concerned over the pandemic period made free will contributions amounting to around Rs 1.15 lakh as a goodwill gesture towards the 25 elderly people, male and female.
Four members of the M-WhatApp Group handed over cash Rs 1 lakh and essential commodities worth Rs 15,000 to the proprietor of Old Age Home, Neithonuo T Leigise on June 4.
According to K Elu Ndang, a member of the group expressed concern towards the welfare of the inmates saying that it has been learnt that the State government has not been extending any support to the Old Age Home for the last couple of years.
In this, the group members have urged the State Government and the Health and Family Welfare Department to extend the needed services and health care towards the elder people especially during this pandemic period.
