CEO informs on requisition of vehicles
Tuensang, March 18 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland has informed that in pursuance of Section 166 of the R.P. Act of 1951, the power conferred to the State Government under Section 160 to Section 165 of the R.P. Act of 1951 has been delegated to the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Tuensang and Kohima to act on behalf of the State Government for requisitioning of vehicles, premises etc., for the Bye-Election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2021 from 51-Noksen (ST) Assembly Constituency. Any vehicle, premises etc., belonging to private persons or institution/ organization so requisitioned shall be entitled for compensation under Section 161 of the R.P. Act of 1951, a DIPR report informed.
CMO Wokha notifies on Medical Board examination
Wokha, March 18 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha C W Tungoe has informed all the employees of State government service in Wokha district that the Medical Board Examination for service confirmation will be held on March 25 and 26, starting from 10:00 am onwards at CMO office Wokha. All those who are yet to appear for Medical Board Examination have been requested to come to the CMO office on the mentioned dates.
Kindergarten, pre schools to resume only after govt directive: Mon DC
Mon, March 18 (MExN): DC Mon Thavaseelan K issued a notification on March 16 directing schools in Mon District to abstain from resuming classes/activities for students in classes below Standard 1, pre-schools, kindergarten and Montessori schools until further directives/SOPs is received from the Government. Disciplinary action will be initiated against any institution found violating the order, the DC cautioned.
SDO(C) Sechü Zubza informs on COVID-19 vaccination
Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Sechü Zubza, Tiayanger Jamir has informed all Village Councils to make wide publicity in their respective villages that COVID-19 vaccination facility is available at PHC Sechü Zubza, PHC Jotsoma and PHC Khonoma. The vaccination timing will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Thursday every week in all these PHCs. As per the slot and availability of vaccine, those in the age group between 45 years to 59 years having co morbidity cases as well as those who are aged 60 years and above (both co morbidity and non co morbidity persons) have been encouraged to get themselves vaccinated. UGC extends last date of submission of thesis
Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The University Grants Commission (UGC) in continuation to its public notice on December 21, 2020, and keeping in view the larger interest of the research scholars, has announced that a further extension of six months (from June 30, 2021 to December 31, 2021) for submission of thesis by M Phil/ PhD students may be granted by the Universities. The extension of six months may also be granted for submitting evidence of publication and presentation in two conferences. However, tenure of fellowship will remain up to five years only, a DIPR report informed.
State level appellate MCMC constituted
Kohima, March 18 (MExN): In view of the announcement of schedule of bye-election to fill casual vacancy in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 51-Noksen (ST) Assembly Constituency, the State Level Appellate Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted with Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland Abhijit Sinha as Chairman.
The members of the Committee include one Observer appointed by the ECI, Z Tokishe Sema (Director, Information & Public Relations), K Sonikumar Singh (Assistant Director, PIB Kohima), Alice Yhoshu (Journalist & President of Kohima Press Club) and Ruokuovituo Khezhie (Jt Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland) as member secretary.
The two functions of the State Level Appellate MCMC will be deciding appeal from both District and Additional CEO Committees on certification of advertisement as per the Commission order dated April 15, 2004 and examining all cases of paid news on appeal against the decision of District MCMC or cases taken up suo motu, in which case it shall direct the concerned ROs to issue notices to the candidates.
