CGA meeting on April 9
Kohima, March 26 (MExN): The Chairperson, Committee on Government Assurances Y Vikheho Swu has conveyed an introductory-cum-evidence meeting for the year 2021-2022 on April 9, 11:00 am at the Assembly Committee Room. All members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting.
One dead body recovered in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on March 27 recovered an unidentified male dead body from a marketing shed near Essar Petrol Pump, Walford, Dimapur. According to a press release from the ADCP (Crime) / PRO, the deceased is suspected to be a non-Naga, aged approximately 60 years old. On completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur for post mortem examination and identification, the release stated. Claimants/ relatives/ friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, East Police Station, Dimapur.
Kohima: Assessment camp for CWSN on March 29
Kohima, March 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Education Mission Society (NEMS) Samagra Shiksha Nagaland will be organizing an Assessment Camp for both school going and homebound Children with Special needs (CWSN) in the age group of 6-18 years on March 29. According to a notification issued by DEO Kohima on Saturday, the camp will begin at 10:00 am at the DEO conference hall.
All EBRC officials and IE resource persons under DMA, SS Kohima have been requested to disseminate the information to all the Schools (Government and Private) villages /colonies/wards, etc., to bring the children for assessment without fail. Categories of CWSN to be assessed include visual impairment, hearing impairment and locomotor impairment, the notification stated.
KVYO condemns
Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) has condemned the alleged abuse of a minor girl by her foster parents at Peraciezie colony in Kohima and urged the concerned authority to take stringent action against the couple. In a press release received on Saturday, the organization also demanded that the foster father who is reportedly a ‘law enforcing personnel’ be terminated from active service and the couple be punished according to the law ‘without outside interference.’ It also appealed all right thinking citizens to condemn the incident.
KSUD condemns alleged rape of minor
Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur on Saturday condemned the alleged rape of a minor girl at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur and urged the law enforcing authorities to initiate thorough investigation into the matter. It also appealed that the culprit be awarded befitting punishment as per the provision of the law. Stating that such acts of barbarism destroy the social fabric of peace in the society, it further appealed all right thinking citizens to condemn the heinous crime. The union also extended sincere sympathies to the victim and her family.
