7 detained for not wearing mask in public area
Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Dimapur Police detained seven persons in West PS on March 26 for not wearing mask in public area which was in violation of the COVID-19 SOP. Similar exercise would continue in the coming days for enforcement of the COVID-19 safety protocols in public places, the Dimapur Police PRO informed in a press release on Sunday. In this regard, the public have been requested to extend cooperation for the safety of all concerned.
One held for duping shop owner in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): One person identified as Jonathan Zumvu (21 yrs) alias Ting Ting was nabbed by the Dimapur Police on criminal charges of cheating a shop owner in Purana Bazaar area on March 24. According to the Dimapur Police PRO, the individual was also earlier arrested on similar charges. The modus operandi adopted by the accused was that on the pretext of buying items from a targeted departmental store, he would produce his debit card at the billing counter. During the billing process, he would then ask for some cash from the cash counter for making other purchases from the nearby shop and inform the cashier to debit the total amount from his ATM/Debit card. On receipt of the cash from the unaware cashier, the individual would then dash off. In this connection, a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
2 held with IMFL
Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): Dimapur Police arrested two individuals- Ravi Kumar (26 yrs) and Dilip Chetri (35 yrs) on charges of illegal possession of IMFL. Altogether 110 bottles of IMFL was seized. In this regard, a case has been registered in Sub-Urban PS and West PS, Dimapur Police PRO informed in a press release on March 28.
Body recovered
Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on Sunday informed that one unidentified body of a non-Naga male (approx 50 yrs) wearing white and black patterned shirt and green long pant was recovered from a roadside in GS Road area on March 27. The cause of death is suspected to be of natural illness and the body has been evacuated to the District Hospital for post mortem. Claimant/ relatives/ friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the officer-in-charge East Police Station Dimapur.
Dimapur Police recover stolen two-wheelers
Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): A Special Team from Diphupar PS and East PS recovered two stolen two-wheelers (scooty) in two separate cases on March 25. Subsequently the two-wheelers were handed over to the rightful owners, Dimapur Police PRO informed on Sunday.
