Governor greets on Buddha Purnima

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): Nagaland and Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Buddha Purnima greetings to the Buddhist community and the people of Nagaland.  In a message on Sunday, Governor Mukhi noted that the day commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and Nirvana of Lord Buddha who shared the message of humanity, non-violence, peace and service to the world. He expressed hope that the occasion would continue to propagate the ideals of Lord Buddha and promote peace, happiness and amity in the State. 

TSGBA issues clarification

Tseminyu, May 15 (MExN): The Tseminyu District GB Association (TDGBA) on Sunday issued a clarification stating that it had participated in the General Sessions of NGBF held on April 20 and 21 in Phek district. “We were never denied by anyone during the sessions. We have taken part during the executive meeting wherein new office bearers were selected,” it stated in a press release. It further stated that the Phek district sessions of NGBF was “constitutionally conducted and culminated and we have no complaint whatsoever,” and wished the new NGBF team the best in their future endeavours.

NSCN-K (Niki Group) recovers bike

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Town Command of the NSCN-K (Niki Group) has recovered a 150 cc Bajaj Pulsar bike (black & red) bearing engine number MB2A11CYKCM21701 and chassis number DH102106. Informing this in a press release, the group’s MIP has informed the rightful owner of the bike to claim the same from the town command office (Contact No: 9862334833) within 7 days.

NSCN (IM) UT hands over fugitives to state law enforcement agency

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Union Territory informed that the UT-1 Guard Command apprehended four ‘non-locals’ who had allegedly murdered a 70-year-old man and were on the run from law enforcement agencies. According to a press release from the Secretary UT, the four persons had allegedly “murdered the deceased over a family altercation and subsequently entered Nagaland." As they happened to be non-indigenous and residents of Assam, the Office handed the apprehended persons to the appropriate and competent state law enforcement agency for further course of action, it said.

Free health camp held

DIMAPUR, MAY 15 (MExN): A free health camp was held at Lephori village with the co-initiative of Z Nyusietho Nyuthe and senior doctors from Meluri village. Nyuthe thanked the team for providing free services along with huge quantity of medicines and hearing kits to the public to more than  hundred people who turned up for the camp. The team included Dr C Wathsutho Nyuthe, Sr. Specialist, Medicine, Oncologist, NHK;  Dr Zhimatho Nyusou, Sr. Specialist, ENT, DH, Phek; Dr Chukhusie Nyuwi, SMO Meluri; Dr Viseno Nyusou, MO, Ayush Meluri; Dr Neiphreizo, Specialist/Diabetologist; and Dr Zhoveyo, ENT specialist, MO, PHC Kamaleah, with staff from CHC, Meluri and PHC Kamaleah.
