NCD meeting

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has informed that there will be an extraordinary emergency meeting of councilors on May 11 in NCD Office Conference Hall at 11:00 am to discuss the mobilization of fund generation for the prioritized NCD projects 2023-2024. Therefore, all the councillors have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.

Longleng DPDB meet held

Longleng, May 8 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on May 8 at DPDB hall Longleng. The DC Longleng Dharam Raj, IAS chaired the meeting. The Department of Sericulture presented the Department activities in the meeting. District Cultural Officer was entrusted to present the Department activities in the next meeting. 

DC Kohima directs WP(C) petitioners

Kohima, May 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has informed all concerned petitioners in WP(C) No. 326 (K) 2023 that verification of documents submitted by all concerned will be conducted on May 16 from 9:00 am onwards in the Conference Hall, DC Office Kohima. All the petitioners are directed to come in person for the verification along with any photo identity card such as Aadhar, Driving License, EPIC, PAN card etc in original. The notification informed that no representative of any petitioner will be allowed and further said that no claims shall be entertained at any point of time beyond the assigned date.

GPRN/NSCN condoles

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has condoled the demise of Khaghoto Sumi, Tatar on May 8 after prolong illness. A press note from MIP, GPRN/NSCN stated that Sumi joined the national service since 1990 and dedicated all his life and energy for the sacred cause with all his heart and with all his soul. “In his death a large vacuum has been created, the void of which will be difficult to fill in, in the near future,” it stated while conveying condolence and also prays to the Almighty God to grant solace to his family members and near and dear ones.

GPRN/NSCN welcomes national workers

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has welcomed the national workers from different political groups including Yangtsase Sangtam, Kilonser and Tsachomong Sangtam, Raja Peyu, from NSCN (Khango) and Lieut Col Atsase Sangtam, Maj Hukavi Sumi and Lieutenant Yokyuse Sangtam from NSCN (Angami).The MIP GPRN/NSCN in a press release claimed, “they asserted that they joined the GPRN/NSCN because Naga people’s aspiration can be realized only through tall leaders like Gen. (Rtd) MB Neokpao Konyak, President and Alezo Venuh, Ato Kilonser.”

New CAO of UT takes charge

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The Ministry of Kilo Affairs, NSCN (IM) informed that Capt (Retd) Viyito Yeptho, Kilonser has been appointed as new CAO of Union Territory (UT), GPRN and taken charge with effect from May 6. The MIP, NSCN (IM) in a press release said that “Secretary of UT, Solomon Sumi has requested the cooperation from the Hohos, GBs, organizations, associations, church leaders, student bodies, business establishments and individuals for smooth functioning of UT administration and peace in society.”

Shamator-Chessore road damaged by landslides

Tuensang, May 8 (MExN): The Y Anner Village Council members led by Yimtokiu Hd GB visited the on-going road clearance which was damaged recently by landslides. The road stretch between Shamator-Chessore was badly affected by the heavy rains and landslides damaging dozens of culverts and bridges recently. The Hd GB expressed gratitude towards S Keoshu Yimchunger, Advisor YRS and Chairman DPDB Shamator for taking initiative for clearing roads for the emergency service of the people. He appealed the concern department to “take proper side verification for construction of all damaged bridges, culverts, and road at the earliest for the better service of the people.”

Atoizu ADC issues Travel advisory

Zunheboto, May 8 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Atoizu, Nukutulu S Venuh, through a travel advisory notified on May 7 that in view of recent heavy rainfall causing severe damages to the road and concrete structures requiring urgent repairs, the road from Naghutomi (Old) to Pukhobokita (Coco Doyang Road) will be temporarily closed for maintenance from May 8 for a period of one month until further notice. Further, all travelers are therefore advised to avoid taking the said route and to take an alternate route via Emlomi-Yesholutomi- KPA- Kitsakita.
