JVYO presidential meet on Nov 24

JALUKIE, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Jalukie Valley Youth Organization (JVYO) has convened a presidential meeting on November 24 at 11:00 am at HomeStay Jalukie. A press release from the JVYO media cell informed all village youth organizations affiliated under JVYO to attend the meeting positively. “To facilitate the smooth and timely functioning of the meeting, the attendees, especially, from the far flung villages are requested to come on November 23,” the press release informed. Lodging and Accommodation will be arranged. It further asked all members attending the meeting to strictly adhere to the SOPs and advisories of the Government.

Classic Club Kohima condoles

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Classic Club Kohima has expressed sadness at the demise of late Keduozelhou Khruomo, a member of the club on November 18. A press release from the club said “it is unbelievable that late Keduozelhou - a friend to all his colleagues, warm and supportive in all his dealings is no more with us. He was a person who stood tall amongst his equals. His strength lies in his modesty and humility with which he had endeared himself to all his colleagues. A pillar of encouragement for many, especially for the Classic family.” It added that in his death, the club has “lost a very fine member.” The club further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members. 

GPRN/NSCN recovers bike

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has informed that a black colour Pulsar 220 motorcycle bearing Engine Number DKZCDD66918 and Chassis Number MD2A13EZ6DCD70428 has been recovered and kept for claim and authentication at the office of the Crime Control Cell (CCC), Kilo Affairs, GPRN/NSCN CHQ, Kehoi Camp. A press release from the MIP of the GPRN/NSCN informed the genuine owner of the vehicle to bring all original documents and claim the same from the above mentioned office within seven days’ time.

Th Muivah condoles demise of W Shimray

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): NSCN (IM) General Secretary, Th Muivah has expressed grief at the demise of Wunganing Shimray, Executive Member of the Steering Committee, NSCN on November 17 after a prolonged illness.  A press release from the NSCN (IM) General Secretary said the “nation has lost a great and sincere leader in the death of Wunganing Shimray, leaving a vacuum that will be hard to fill.” Muivah described him as as “one of the committed national workers who had served the Nation in the most trying and testing times of the national struggle giving his best efforts as a true worker and a leader,” adding that his contributions "shall be ever cherished by the Nation.” Muivah further expressed condolences to the bereaved family. Meanwhile another press release from Major (Retd Hutovi Chishi), Convener, Steering Committee, NSCN (IM) said that late Shimray was a “man of courage and determination with high dreams for the Naga nation.” “His life is a reflection of commitment and dedication. The vacuum created will be difficult to fill,” it added. 

ADC Jalukie notifies on sealed areas

JALUKIE, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): ADC Jalukie, Dr Tinojongshi Chang has notified that in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive case, Gaidinliu Avenue Block K Quarter 2, Sainik School Punglwa has been sealed with effect from November 18. All movement of persons/vehicle in the sealed areas is strictly prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the date of sealing. Any person violating the order will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section-188 of the IPC.

Dimapur DC seals residence

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has ordered the temporary sealing of a residence near Stone Crusher Mill, Block-I, Thahekhu Village, Dimapur for 48 hours with immediate effect till further order. An order issued by the Dimapur DC cautioned that any person violating the containment measures will be liable to be proceeded as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section-188 of the IPC. 

ENSF emergency meet on Nov 23

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation has convened a consultative emergency meeting with ENPO, ENWO, 6 tribal hohos (CKS, KTC, PPC, KU, USLP & YTC) and 6 Kohima based tribal hohos (CUK, KUK, PUK, KonyakUK, SUK and YUK) on November 23 at the conference hall of the DUDA guest house, Kohima at 1:00pm. A press release from the federation asked the Presidents and General Secretaries to attend without fail. It was further stressed that the COVID-19 SOP shall be strictly maintained.

KMC informs traders

Kohima, November 19 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed the local traders union, Super Market Kohima that it has extended the date for submission of old allotment documents for another 15 days (from November 20 to December 5). No application of documents will be entertained after the due date, KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase informed.

NPF Minority Wings extends Chhath Puja greetings

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The NPF Minority Wing has extended greetings on the occasion of Chhath Puja to the Bhojpuri citizens of Nagaland and neighbouring areas. A press release from NPF Minority Wing (Central), Bishnu Bhattacharjee said that ‘Chhath Puja,’ the Hindu ritual and the prayer to the Sun God (Chatt Mata) in the river banks, is major festival of Bhojpuri community. "May it shower blessings and bring peace, unity and prosperity amongst all," it wished.

NPSC informs on speed tests for stenographers & typists

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) has notified that speed test in shorthand for stenographers and speed test in typewriting for typists will be conducted by the commission. A report from the DIPR informed that irrespective of the number of years a regular and confirmed Stenographer has served in a particular grade, they may apply to appear the speed test for the next higher grade. Therefore the appointing authority may nominate regular employees who are confirmed in service to appear for speed test on or before November 21. The nomination letters of the employees should invariably be supported by their appointment, regularization and confirmation orders. The list of eligible candidates shall be displayed on the Commission’s Notice Board and Website after 2:00 pm on November 27. The exam dates have been re-scheduled to December 3 and 4 for stenographers and typists respectively.

Tening Town Council receives vehicle

TENING, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Tening Town Council received a Bolero car from the 14th FC (Municipal Affairs) on November 19. A report from the DIPR informed that the vehicle was officially received in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rhosietho Nguori; Extra Assistant Commissioner, Tumben P Tsanglao along with GBs and public leaders. Reverend Kitanwi Chewang, Executive Secretary, LBA offered the blessings.

Longleng admin informs on revised prices

LONGLENG, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The District Administrator of Longleng has fixed the prices of several essential and non essential commodities. All business establishments dealing with sand & MS Rods have been directed to strictly adhere to standard weighing of products/commodity. The rates of items are subject to periodical/seasonal review. All other procedure as mentioned in the previous order shall stand until further order, it was informed. The administration cautioned that non-compliance to the order shall invite action which may even include the cancellation of trade license.
