DC informs on road closure
Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The Dimapur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Soundararajan on Wednesday informed that there will be closure of road from Thahekhu Block-7 gate to Selouphe Junction and up to 1 km towards Greenpark from 8:00 pm till 6:00 am from November 19 to 29. The restriction is necessitated to allow the PWD(R&B) department to complete road construction works for the ongoing project ‘Construction and widening of road from NH-29 (Sovima Village Gate) - Sovima Cricket Ground up to Thahekhu village, Dimapur in Nagaland’ under NESIDS, the notice stated.
Patkai bridge- Kukidolong: 22hr restriction from Nov 22
Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan on Wednesday notified that there would be a total restriction of all movement from Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Kukidolong from 7:00 am on November 22 till 5:00 am on November 23. The restriction is in order to facilitate the progress of the four lane construction works and in the interest of public safety, the notice stated. The restriction is necessitated to facilitate speedy completion of works and as a precautionary measure to prevent any injury, loss of life and damage to property. General public may take the alternative route from Dimapur - Kohima/Kohima -Dimapur for light vehicles only via 7th Mile - New DC office-Shokhuvi - Razaphe-Mhaikam - Pimla -Mhainamtsi - Jhornapani/Medziphema and vice versa, it added.
DBS extends Chhath Puja greetings
Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) Kamalakanta Paul, President, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Samaj has extended greetings to all the devotees and ChhathVratis on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparv.
“May Chhathi Maiya and Bhagwan Anshumali shower enormous blessings on all the devotees and vratis, and save us all from all evil and negativity of all kinds,” DBS said in a message.
“On this pious occasion of Chhath Mahaparv we gratefully acknowledge the fact that obeisance is paid even to the setting Sun. May we all be blessed,” it added.
Security forces arrest two cadres
Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Security forces in an operation apprehended two cadres of NSCN (K-Nikki Sumi) at Gen A Purana Bazar, Dimapur on November 13, an office release informed.
The cadres were arrested when the security forces launched an operation in the area base on specific input of extortion activities, the press release from HQ IGAR (N) informed.
The cadres along with recovered items have been handed over to the East Police station, for further investigation, it added.
NSCN (IM) terminates one from service
Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has terminated one A Chuba Kumzuk, Kilonser, Phom Region, from the active membership of both the party (NSCN) and Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) with immediate effect on account of deliberate breach of party discipline and indulgence in anti-national activities, with reference to the ‘Termination Order’ issued by the Yaruiwo (President) of GPRN, dated the November 12, 2020.
This was informed in a press release issued by the group’s MIP on November 17.
